We are a Social, Education, and Employment Network for PEOPLE who happen to have a disability. Disabled People, Family Members, Caretakers, Rehabilitation Specialists, and anyone interested in disabilities are encouraged to register for a free membership.
Linkable.org has been online for over ten years. However, the website has recently been re-designed with many new features. We are now very interactive. Registered Members have the ability to create a free website (or online Resume), add events to the Calendar, add links to our website, post announcements to our Blog, search the profiles of other members, and enjoy 24/7 access to our voice/text chat rooms.
In the past Linkable.org's main purpose was to link to the personal websites of disabled people by type of disability. In 1996 it started as a collection of Bookmarks which I put online to share with others. We still have the links to hundreds of personal pages, click on the Disability Links option in the top menu.
To help us get to know each other, please introduce yourself in the Forums. The Forums are open to the public.
To Register for a free membership just click on the Register Link on the Login Form to the left. After you Register and sign in a User Menu will appear on the left side of the website. The User Menu includes the following options:
Mail (we use an internal mail system to ensure your privacy)
Submit Calendar Event (add disability related events)
Write A Blog Entry (post announcements to our website visitors)
Update Your Profile (tell others about yourself)
Upload Your Photo or Logo (profiles with photos or logos look nice)
Add A Link (add disability related links to our website)
Our Forums are open to the public. Any website visitor may use the Forums to discuss Disability Related Topics, or promote Disability Related Products & Services.
The most popular of our new features are the Voice Chat Virtual Classrooms. The audio platform is the most reliable and est quality available online. This technology was developed by and for blind computer users. Now it is being used by Government Agencies, Schools, and the Private Sector. Some of the rich features include; voice chat, text chat, browser syncronation, a whiteboard, the ability to record voice and text chat, and much more. You can even raise your hand.
